BBQ Classes in Texas - Learn How To Cook BBQ
In addition to winning BBQ contests all of the US and Canada, Konrad Haskins has appeared on TV, Radio and Newspapers including the Wall Street Journal.
Konrads love of barbecue started started by watching his Oupa (granddad) cooking whole steers on a spit when he was 5 years old in South Africa.
He has spent his entire life learning backyard BBQ before he started winning events in 2002 shortly before turning pro in 2003. Konrads experience includes being the founder and manager of Teddy Bears Barbecue restaurant and catering company in Monroe, Washington.
The BBQ Institute was founded in 2004 and has been teaching cooking classes in Texas since 2006.
Students travel from all over the United States and the world to take the institutes BBQ classes, all of which are available with plenty of helpful support so that you can be assured that you are not on your own when you start cooking at home.
Konrad personally teaches every class worldwide, and has recently been involved with some of the members of TLCs Pitmasters show including Johnny Trigg (BBQ pitmaster), and Chris Lilly (Pitmaster and Author of Bob Gibsons Competition BBQ Secrets).
On the "Inside The World of Championship Barbecue" DVD you can watch Konrad cook against Johnny Trigg and Chris Lilly at the American Royal Invitational. Harry Soo started with a BBQ Institute Pitmaster class and also took our competition class the next year to help him clinch the rookie of the year award.
